2008 Junior Cross Country |
The Ric Rojas 2008 Fall Cross Country Program starts on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 and ends on Saturday, November 1st, with practices and/or races on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. In addition, athletes may compete in the State Cross-country Junior Olympics on November 1st in Littleton.
Price: $295 Registration information.
The program will be expanded to include elementary-aged children.
Ric Rojas Running is a USA Track and Field Federation registered club, coached by former Bolder-Boulder winner Ric Rojas.
Practices will be held at Boulder locations to be announced. See calendar for tentative locations. |
Training
Philosophy |
Individual
goal setting; Event-specific drills and plyos; Running
efficiency and speed; Event-specific precision pacing
and racing strategy; Technical hurdle training for
hurdlers and sprinters; Overall and core neuromuscular
strength and conditioning; Flexibility/Range of
Motion development/Injury Prevention; Limited running
(warmup/warmdown and very light pace/circuit intervals)
will be embedded, but no endurance running or heavy
interval training will be included. |

Rojas Educational Background |
Ric
Rojas is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Sport Sciences
at the University of Norhern Colorado. His concentration
is motivation and peak performance. He received
a BA from Harvard University in 1974 and an MBA
from the University of Denver in 1983. |

Rojas Competitive Highlights |
Rojas
was ranked in the top-ten U.S. Road Racers 1977-81
by Track and Field News; won the 1979 Bolder Boulder,
the 1975 Bay to Breakers, the 1979 Lilac Bloomsday
Run, and the 1981 Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K,
setting a world record of 43:12; and won the 1978
Utica Boilermaker. He won the United States USAT&F
national Cross Country Championship in 1976. As
a masters runner, Rojas has won 3 USATF National
5000 meter championships |
High
School and College Competitive Highlights |
Rojas
won four New Mexico State High School Championships
in Cross Country and Track and was ranked in the
top ten United States High School Milers in 1970.
He still holds the New Mexico State Mile Record
of 4:12.6 (Albuquerque, NM, 1970). His best Prep
Mile time was 4:11.6 (Houston, Texas, February 1970).
While at Harvard, he set the 3-mile record and qualified
for "All-Ivy" honors in track and cross
country. |

Personal Trainer who is now offering her training
expertise to individuals committed to a healthy
lifestyle or to improving their athletic performance
through specialized personal training.Heather Biglow
is a two-time Olympic Trials finalist and Four-time
Big 12 Champion who lives and trains in Boulder,
Colorado. |
